Mireia Verdú Tremosa Princess Model of the World 2004

HONG KONG - 21-year-old Mireia Verdú Tremosa, the final winner, was crowned Princess Model of the World 2004 on the 11th of October 2004.
Prologue
In 2001 Aad Ouborg and the late top photographer Paul Huf initiated the Princess Model of the Year Contest. For four years in a row now, Princess has been organising this beauty contest in the Netherlands and Belgium. The number of entries for this professional model competition is still growing steadily. Every year hundreds of budding models enter the contest with hopes of winning this coveted title. Following this great success, more and more distributors are going to organise their own Princess Model of the Year Contest.
Princess Model of the World 2004 Hong Kong is the largest event that Princess has ever organised during its 10-year existence. The activities during the event were held in the most fantastic locations in Hong Kong. The organisation of this event spanned some 1 1/2 years. The most fantastic locations (that are normally not available for events) were opened up for Princess.
WHO WILL BE NEXT?
Nineteen dazzling candidates from all parts of the world competed for the coveted title Princess Model of the World 2004. The models were evaluated by an expert jury. The contest was not only focused on beauty; presentation, bearing, insight and personality formed important elements in the judging.
21-year-old Mireia Verdú Tremosa, the final winner, was crowned Princess Model of the World 2004. She will be the face of Princess. She will fulfil an important role and be present during trade show presentations and other important events worldwide. Previous years have shown that winning the title is a springboard to a promising career as a top model, actress or presenter in the world of Glitter & Glamour.
Prior to this exciting finale, over 300 guests enjoyed the various model rounds on the most spectacular locations in Hong Kong. Naturally, the theme of the entire event was the motto of Aad Ouborg, President Director of Princess Household Appliances BV: ¡°Business is Entertainment¡±.
A number of highlights in the programme:
- A visit to Lamma Island, famous for its fish restaurants and beautiful beaches. On board, Cas Spijkers and Joop Braakhekke saw to the culinary delights. Tonny Eyk offered a musical note or two.
- An overwhelming Dutch Night, where the entertainment centre of Hong Kong, Lan Kwai Fong, was totally ¡°dressed¡± in the colour orange. Performances were given by Gordon, Ronnie Tober, Robert Halewijn, Stevie J, Jo Lemaire, Tonny Eyk and Paul Michiels. The entire affair was presented by Gordon and Tineke de Nooij.
- A so-called ¡°Coffee Royal¡± was organised for the press, with honoured guest His Royal Highness Prince Carlos de Bourbon de Parme.
- The floral Tulip Party, where the christening of the Princess Tulip was held. This took place at the edge of a beautiful fountain situated on a unique square. The fantastic performances were given by To Be, 12 Girls Band, Hind and Trio Tonny Eyk.
- Trip to China, with a visit to the Princess joint-venture factory in Guanzhou.
- The high point of this trip was the grandiose finale in the majestic Grand Hyatt Hotel. The guests were received in the Tiffin lounge of this famous hotel. Never before had this lounge been hired for events of this calibre. An interesting detail: the ballroom where the exciting finale was held boasts the largest chandelier in the world. During the fantastic model rounds, Niek Boes, Laura Fygi, Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet) and famous Chinese pop idols gave various performances. After the dénouement of the Princess Model of the World Contest 2004 a swinging after-party was organised specially for all the guests in JJ¡¯s, a modern club that harbours various styles. The club was opened specially for our after-party. Of course, numerous artists put in an appearance. Charly Luske surprised the guests with his new single ¡°Purple Rain¡±.
