Princess Orange Tour 2005

PHUKET, SINGAPORE, DUBAI - The Princess Orange Tour 2005 was held between 30 October and 9 November 2005.
Among those taking part were His Royal Highness Prince Carlos de Bourbon de Parme, former banker Jaap Rost Onnes, journalist Willem Kool (Stan Huygens Journaal, De Telegraaf newspaper) and Princess ambassadors Masterchef of the Century Cas Spijkers, composer and pianist Tonny Eyk and the Belgian entertainer and host Dré Stemans (Felice).
The Princess Orange Tour 2005 started on the tropical island of Phuket in Thailand where the world¡¯s first Princess shop was opened. Princess CEO Aad Ouborg and the Thai sales director Chintana Boonyarat of the Central Group both cut the ribbon, and then nine Buddhist monks held a special good-luck ceremony.
Another great highlight during the stay on Phuket was the opening of the fabulous villa - the Princess Hotel Villa Phuket. The villa is going to be used by distributors from more than 25 countries all over the world for consumer promotions. Consumers who buy a Princess product will get the chance to win a week¡¯s stay here. This magnificent villa comes with its own butler, chef and chauffeur. There is also a wonderful swimming pool – 12 metres long - as well as a Sala (a Thai tea-house) and it is situated next to a superb 18-hole golf course. Guests will be transported with some 20 tuk-tuks and will be greeted by a giant elephant and a traditional Thai children¡¯s musical group. A representative from the Dutch Embassy will be among the special guests.
Following the tsunami on 26 December 2004, Aad Ouborg decided to do all he could to help the people of the area. This included the offer of several long-tailed boats to local fishermen. Thanks to the boats, the fishermen have been able to continue making a living. The boats were given their official launch with a sailing-trip for the guests.
After staying four days in Phuket, the group travelled on to Singapore where they were the greeted by their hosts, the firm Landex, the Thai Princess distributor. The programme of their two-day stay in Singapore included the introduction of the ¡°Princess Crystals from Swarovski¡±. This was held in the Dutch Club, in the presence of the Dutch Ambassador, Chris Sanders, and his wife Marianne.
Singapore was also where the Phaedra Hoste tour coach was officially launched. This is to be used by distributors Landex for all kinds of promotional activities. The tour coach has been decorated with photographs of our gorgeous beauty ambassador, Belgian model Phaedra Hoste.
The next stage of the Princess Orange Tour 2005, after the two days in Singapore, was Dubai. This was the scene, among other things, of the introduction of the Chef Ramzi promotional tour. Chef Ramzi is very well known in the Middle East. He is watched every day live on television by 10 million viewers and he has published countless cookery books, the latest of which sold more than 500,000 copies! The contract was signed during a demonstration in the Park Hyatt Hotel in Dubai, and Chef Ramzi is now officially the proud bearer of the title Princess Ambassador.
Chef Ramzi¡¯s entry into the group of Princess Ambassadors was celebrated during a fabulous lunch with brothers Ebrahim and Ismail Ahmed Abdulnabi Al Abbas, the business partners of Princess. Mr Twaalfhoven, Dutch the Consul-General in Dubai, was also invited to this occasion. The lunch was served in one of the brothers¡¯ amazing palaces.
The following day it was time for a desert rally. With 17 jeeps, an adventurous journey was made through the vast sandy expanses. The trip ended in a Bedouin camp where a meal was enjoyed to the accompaniment of Arabic entertainment.
The four days in Dubai rounded off the highly successful Princess Orange Tour 2005.
